We Are Family: You and I
When they're not at work at Weatherby Healthcare in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Marquita and Leighton Ellis are playing with and caring for their young son -- which is why they value CHG's family-friendly atmosphere so much.
"CHG has given us the ability to balance work with home life," Leighton, a consultant for Weatherby Healthcare's hospitalist division, says. "While many companies advertise this atmosphere and culture, CHG goes one step further by delivering on its commitment."
That commitment is just one of the things Leighton and Marquita, a medical staff supervisor, enjoy about their work at CHG.
"We both know that our work never goes unrecognized," Marquita says. "Here at Weatherby, we play hard but work harder. It is so worth it. There are not too many people who can say they love coming to work, but I definitely can. I love it here!"
And Leighton can credit his job to Marquita, who, after joining the company in 2006, talked about her job for two years and finally got Leighton to apply.
"I came to CHG after nine years in the mortgage and finance sector, in large part due to industry downturn. Marquita was quite instrumental in the recruitment process and would rave about CHG and all the company had to offer," Leighton recalls. "I decided to make CHG and Weatherby Healthcare my place of choice and haven’t looked back since!"
Marquita says she likes having lunch to spend with her husband, since much of their time during the week is spent at the office, while Leighton appreciates being able to talk to his wife quickly when something urgent comes up and carpooling with her when he can. The couple also enjoys the relationships they've developed with other Weatherby Healthcare employees.
"It is wonderful to be able to share our lives with others at CHG both inside and outside our place of work," Leighton expresses. "Whether it be an office party, house party, birthday party or our kids' soccer games on the weekend, we appreciate the opportunity to share our life experiences in real time."
And family members are welcome at the office as well, Marquita notes.
"Our wonderful son has visited the office and always wants to know when he can come and visit mommy and daddy’s work again. That is something you don’t hear from kids about where their parents work," Marquita shares. "However, Weatherby Healthcare's environment has our little one always wanting to come to visit."
