CompHealth employee elected to local school board

5/12/2010 6:37 PM

CompHealth allied health staffing licensing coordinator Andrea Adgate was recently elected to the Saranac Community Board of Education in Saranac, Mich. Andrea was elected to the seven-person board for a four-year term, beginning on July 1.

The primary function of the board of education is to oversee the education of people in the community. Educational programs conducted at the elementary, middle and high school levels are most familiar. The board is also responsible for tasks like hiring a superintendent, other administrators, teachers and support personnel, and setting the curriculum and courses taught in the school.

"I’m extremely honored and excited to have been elected to a board position by the community," Andrea says. "I’ve been attending our school board meetings since the beginning of the year and what I have learned so far is that I have a lot more to learn! I’m committed to being a strong advocate for quality education and to keeping the community educated, informed and involved."
