We Are Family: It Takes Two

7/27/2011 11:14 AM

CHG is sometimes referred to as a "big, happy family." For some employees, however, that phrase rings very true -- they work each day with their family, whether it be a spouse, sibling, son, daughter, mother or father. Get to know our real-life CHG families in this series of weekly stories, We Are Family!

We Are Family: It Takes Two

Jon Poliseno calls his wife, Tiffany, his "biggest supporter and confidante" and credits her with the courage to relocate from their hometown of Buffalo, N.Y., to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., when he accepted a position at Weatherby Healthcare. For Tiffany, however, the decision was not a hard one to make.

"When Jon was presented with the opportunity, we said yes to the relocation and life change, knowing it was where we were meant to be," shares Tiffany, talent acquisition liaison at Weatherby Healthcare. "We knew it would be tough to leave our family, but we also knew they were a short plane trip away. Well, we’ve found another family here, rich in warmth and caring for us. It's remarkable how it all worked out and managed to take our life to higher levels than we ever imagined."

Jon, director of Weatherby's primary care division, joined CHG in September 2008 and also credits group president Pat Kennedy for his decision to take the position.

"In my past work life, I had the pleasure of working for perhaps the most amazing leader in the world, Pat Kennedy. She and I stayed in touch, and each time we spoke she explained how amazing Weatherby and CHG was from top to bottom. After a lot of arm-twisting, I committed to come down for an interview. When I walked into the office, I immediately felt the culture. The buzz on the floor was incredible. I had the pleasure of meeting with all of the leaders and was amazed to see and literally feel how each was happier than the next. The management style and culture simply blew me away to the point where I needed to be part of this family."

Tiffany, who was unable to move to Florida for several months due to commitments in Buffalo, started at CHG in January 2009 after hearing about Jon's positive experience with his new job.

"Jon had such wonderful things to say, and his happiness in the workplace was evident on his face as well as in his demeanor," Tiffany shares. "When I learned about Putting People First, I knew the people were valued, but experiencing it FAR exceeded my expectations. Mike Weinholtz has always maintained that what sets us apart from other companies is our people. CHG is a caring, passionate and progressive company, and it was a no-brainer to accept an opportunity to join."

Jon's favorite part about working at CHG is the employee-centered culture, which he says makes both he and Tiffany feel valued.

"I have never worked for an organization that truly appreciates and values employees in the way CHG, and specifically Weatherby, does. It's comforting knowing that we work for an organization that treats its people with absolute candor and respect," Jon says. "I know that I never have to worry about Tiffany, as she is surrounded by the best of the best. It is also very reassuring to know that my wife is right around the corner, as we are expecting our first child this coming November."

Tiffany, who says she wakes up with a smile knowing she works with the finest professionals, also enjoys working at the same company as Jon and seeing him in action.

"It’s witnessing Jon do what he does best -- lead people. He manifests such intense passion, and his team feeds off of it. I have such an incredible amount of respect for him and feel really lucky to know that side of him," Tiffany says. "I take away such a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment each and every day. Jon and I are thrilled to bring our baby-to-be into this environment. She already has so many that love her!"

OMG Tiffany Goldsmith???? I went to Cleve Hill for two years starting in 2000 with you. I used to work for CHG in Colorado and still like to check out the site and see what everyone is up to. Think it is you, Tiffany. If so, congratulations on your wedding and the upcoming birth of your first child. Welcome to the CHG family, you’ll love it, and hope all goes according to plan.

Jon and I have very similar stories when it comes to our work-life and our shared passion of being the best father’s – ever.
My wife (KH) has been working for CHG for 6+ years and she has loved every minute of it. Since it is a family atmosphere – you always come out on top – because our colleagues actually care about each other’s growth and longevity with the company.
I am fortunate to have worked for Jon during a years’ time and he taught me so much in regards to passion, drive and ethics – it only made me want more. Every morning he came up with a new way to motivate each and every one of us in such a unique way, it made us value every minute of our day so we can have success for ourselves and the company. This is only one of the reasons why Jon is a remarkable leader and someone I can call a friend.
Jon once said, “Find a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.” I think the CHG’s family of co-workers all feel the same way; hence this is all why we love what we do.
Congratulations and the best of luck on your new addition Jon and Tiffany, I can’t wait for our children to grow up together!
JO
