CHG is sometimes referred to as a "big, happy family." For some employees, however, that phrase rings very true -- they work each day with their family, whether it be a spouse, sibling, son, daughter, mother or father. Get to know our real-life CHG families in this series of weekly stories, We Are Family!
We Are Family: Like Mother, Like Daughter
Since she joined CHG in Salt Lake City in 1993, Sheryl Metz, director of CHG payroll and commissions, and her daughter, Mallary Paskett, have both been part of the CHG family.
"One of the funniest things I remember was bringing Mallary to work with me on a weekend when she had a perm processing in her hair. I didn’t even think about how awful the smell would be! I worked as fast as I could so that we could get out of there," Sheryl recalls. "Sorry again to those of you that were working that day!"

Mallary, who worked as a temporary employee at CHG in high school and joined the company full-time in 2004, says she feels like she started working at CHG when she was a kid -- in a good way.
"I remember sitting under my mom’s desk coloring pictures (and wanting her to hang all of them up in her cubicle). She always talked about it being such a great company and how everyone was so nice," Mallary says.
Years later, Mallary continues to enjoy CHG and now works as an administrative assistant for the CompHealth locum tenens national accounts team.
"I like that the company is people-driven and wants all employees to come first," Mallary expresses. "I also like the option to grow within the company and try other things. If you feel like you can’t grow in your position, or you want to try something new, you have that option."
Sheryl, who was referred to CHG by a friend who worked in the human resources department, says she feels blessed to be a part of a great company.
"I’ve enjoyed the challenges and opportunities for my personal growth and those that I’ve been able to help along the way. I’ve had the chance to work with some great leaders that inspire me and I’ve made many great friends," Sheryl says. "I also like the security I feel working for such a great company with incredible leaders and strong core values that put our people first. I like that we continually look for and find ways to become better."
Though Mallary no longer sits beneath Sheryl's cubicle to color or take a nap (and is expecting her first child in October), the two still find time to spend together during the work week.
"We used to carpool to work before she got married, and I thought I must be the luckiest mom in the world to have this time to share with my daughter," Sheryl expresses. "I often wondered if it was weird for her – but she always told me that she loved spending time with me. Pretty lucky, right? Now that Mallary is married, we don’t carpool to work, but we spend many of our lunch hours together."
Mallary says she likes sharing fun work activities with her mom and enjoys having her close by.
"I loved doing the fun photo booth for Employee Appreciation Week with her, and our pictures make me laugh every day. I also love that I can count on her to help me with United Way week every year," Mallary says. "Plus, if I go into labor while at work, I can just call her to take me to the hospital!"
