Home for the holidays: IT and marketing donate to local shelter

CHG’s IT and marketing teams made the holidays a bit brighter for families staying at The Road Home, a Utah nonprofit agency that assists individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Salt Lake county and surrounding areas. After raising $2,300 to buy food and gifts for those staying at the shelter in Midvale, Utah, team members visited the building Dec. 10.

The unemployment rate in Utah fell to 5.1 percent in November 2012, the lowest rate since November 2008, and the job count rose 3.1 percent during the same month. And CHG is contributing to the job growth trend -- adding 100 to 200 people each year.

"Because of the physician shortage [in the U.S.], there’s been great demand for our services. So we’ve been hiring people to continue to pursue the growth opportunities that exist," CHG’s CEO, Mike Weinholtz, told a Salt Lake Tribune reporter.

After donating several wheelchairs to the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, to celebrate Veterans Day, CHG employees also donated two wheelchairs to the National Ability Center in Park City, Utah, Dec. 13. Julie Sibthorp and Heide Kraus, both members of CHG’s corporate events team, and Alan McIver, group president over CompHealth allied health staffing and RNnetwork, presented the wheelchairs to NAC leaders.

CHG’s accounts receivable team celebrated a record-breaking collection month with a fiesta Nov. 6! Many of CHG’s executives joined the team for a conga line, complete with glowing maracas and festive music, and enjoyed chocolate cake.
