After buying ceramic bowls for $8 each, employees painted them by hand for Soup's On, a United Way-affiliated fundraiser that benefits the food and pantry programs of West Michigan.

There's no reason to be alarmed -- the high-pitched sound in the CompHealth allied health staffing office in Grand Rapids, Mich., July 20 was a drill signaling the start of the annual Fire Drill Picnic. After the fire alarm alerted them around noon, all employees left the building and checked in with their managers in the parking lot before getting in line for the picnic, courtesy of the office landlord, Oxford Partners.

Members of Patty's Pit Crew, a team made up of CompHealth allied health staffing employees, participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Saturday and raised more than $1,600. The team was listed among the top 10 teams/companies in fundraising efforts. Patty's Pit Crew was originally formed to support Patty Johnson, a former coworker who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2010.
